Originally from Annapolis, MD, Virginia Jeffries Pillsbury knew she wanted to be a writer in 7th grade. She earned her degree in English from Emory University and started her career at Emory in the News Services department. She now works as a freelance writer because of the various writing opportunities and experiences that freelance allows.

What she loves most about writing is being given the chance to tell someone's story in a manner that really brings the person to life. “My best compliment is when the subject of a piece I've written tells me that I really hit the mark with them,” says Pillsbury. “I love meeting new people and hearing their stories because I really believe that everyone has an important tale to tell.”

She now resides in Orange Park, FL where she lives with her husband, Walter. They have five children and one son-in-law: Jennifer and Bill Aiken, Margaret Pillsbury, Mitchell Oxford, Allison Oxford and Leslie Oxford. They also have a Yorkie and four black cats.
